Successful CS US conference in Hawaii
Aloha friend,
We wrote recently informing of our upcoming trip to Hawaii. Well, been there and done that - and it was all GREAT!
Hawaii
We travelled to Honolulu via Sydney, where Priscila met her great grandparents for the first time. We arrived after 9 hours into a 28 degree Honolulu and travelled via an old limousine to the lovely Hyatt Regency, right on Waikiki beach. We spent five days attending the National US Christian Surfers conference, then enjoyed two days of relaxing before coming home.

The conference went really well (besides about 30 people getting sick). We finally met the US leaders with whom we have being corresponding with for many many months. We were able to share our vision for Puerto Escondido, and discuss the plans for our move there. We were also able to talk about what needs to happen before we move. Much of what is needed is nutting out the details of how the relationship between us, our local church and Christian Surfers US will work. We are hoping these details will be finalized by the end of the year. Christian Surfers US is also working to set up a board of directors who will oversee the work in Puerto Escondido. There are currently three members on the board.
The next step
Leaders and members of the board are planning to travel to Puerto Escondido in Mexico this October in order to understand the vision. We are hoping that Mike can join them on this trip to meet and plan with the board of directors. This will also enable them to work together to finalize the details for our move. Vanessa and Priscila wont be joining Mike on the trip (nine hours on a plane was enough!). They will probably travel to Tasmania to spend time with Vanessa's family.

Back to normal
We had a great time down in Tasmania visiting family and friends.
Life is back to normal for the next 2 weeks with Mike at work and Vanessa caring for Priscila at home. Then on the 19th of July we will be going to Hawaii for 1 week to attend the annual CS US conference.
And if you are keen to see Priscila, many new photos have been posted.
