Hawaii, Mexico, Tasmania - Join us?
Hola / Hello!
It has been a few weeks since we last wrote. We would like to inform you of our upcoming events, as well as give you the option to receive our newsletter or joining us in our Christian Surfers mission to Mexico.
Hawaii Conference
As you might remember, in mid July we spent ten days in Hawaii attending the US Christian Surfers conference. Our aims in attending this conference were:
1. to meet up with Mando Velasquez (pictured with us below), who will also be joining us in Mexico next year with his family,
2. meet the regional coordinator for the US, Buck Waters and
3. share our vision for Puerto Escondido in Mexico with the US Christian Surfers.
We feel that all these objectives were met. We had very positive feedback from those who attended the conference and we were able to make some new contacts and friends.
Puerto Escondido visit
The next step for us is a visit to Puerto Escondido, the costal surfing town we plan to move to. Mike will be joining Mando and four other CS leaders at the beginning of October for a short 2 week trip.
This will be a key time of 'spying out the land', meeting with local pastors and surfers. Mike & Mando will also be researching more practical things as well, such as accommodation options and costs of setting up in the new year.
Time in Tasmania
Vanessa and Priscila will be heading over to Tasmania while Mike is in Mexico, staying with her parents in Launceston for ten days. Nanna and Papa are really looking forward to reacquainting themselves with their granddaughter.
Opportunity to join us
As the time gets closer for us to leave Australia and move to Mexico, we are seeking to find people who will join us in this mission.
