Australia, Home, Party, Plans

¡Hola / Hello Friend!

teeth

Greetings. We hope you have had a safe and peaceful Easter. We appologise for not contacting you sooner with our latest news. But as you will find out below, we have had a very busy 6 weeks.

Just recently, Mike attended the Christian Surfers Australia National Conference on the Gold Coast over Easter. Vanessa, Priscila and Baby travelled to Tasmania for a week of rest. It was a great time for both of us in different ways, but it was also nice to return home.

Staying in Australia

By now you might know that our plans to move to Mexico have been post-poned. Our prayers for clear guidance were answered when Christian Surfers US (CSUS) informed us that they were not ready for us to commence a new mission in Mexico. Due to the rapid growth as an organisation nationally, they felt the need to set aside this year to reorganise themselves before commiting to supporting us as a new mission. For now we have accepted this as God's timing, and have made arrangements to stay in Australia for until next year.

Our new home

new house

We continue to prepare for the arrival of our second baby, who we expect in mid September. This included moving to a new house in late March. Those of you who visited us in our little unit would know that it was not really adequate for a growing child and a second baby. We have been amanzingly blessed with a HUGE house to rent, with lots of space indoors and a lovely backyard. Priscila now has plenty of space to throw her toys around and Baby will have a room of their own!

Priscila's Birthday

Not only did we move house, hosted family members and cleaned out the unit we vacated, we also had a 1st birthday party for Priscila. We both can't believe how quickly our little baby has grown into a little girl. She had the time of her life, eating chocolate cake and cupcakes, playing with all her little friends and chewing on wrapping paper! She continues to develop and grow well. She recently abandoned crawling for the much preferred walking (mum prefers her to walk so her clothing will stay cleaner!).

Pioneers

We continue to work through the process of joining Pioneers. We have completed our Psychology assessment, although we are still awating the report. The following steps include an interview with Pioneers Australia and acceptance as members. We are also awaiting the formal 'contract' between Pioneers and Christian Surfers (CSI), which would define the roles for each party involved (us, CSI, CSUS, CS Australia, Pioneers and our local church).

The Future

Vanessa is being kept busy careing for the two little ones while Mike does work with either websites or carpentry. There is the CSUS national conference which we would like to attend this July in Ventura California; and while we are in the area would we like to visit the Velasquez family in Mexico. They will be leaving LA next Monday (May 1) to drive back down to Puerto Escondido over the next week or so.

Until then!

Mike, Vanessa, Priscila and Baby

P.S. Please feel free to contact us with any questions you have. We value your support and appreciate the time you took to read this ANZAC day update.
