Web Site Design News & Tips

Helping you get the job done better

Design Tip

Keep Words Togther :: Some times it is important to keep words together on the same line like the word United Kingdom. The code looks like this: <NOBR> keep this together</NOBR> which obviously means no break. (It may not happen in this instance since I choose to write it in such a way that you could see the code.)

Learn to code :: FACT - Few of the web's most visited sites use more than 15 different tags.
TIP: An HTML editor may help you create pages faster. But it also means that your pages load slower and that your design options are limited.
It doesn't take a hardcore nerd to learn 15 tags in HTML!

Design Tip

Fast Code Conversions :: When your clients send you documents in a normal word processing format, simply use the search and replace facility to switch the hidden paragraph tags with the <P> tags. eg. </P><P> since this would be at the end of each paragraph. Then simply cut and past the new already formatted text into the web-layout program. Some adjustments will need to be made but it should make your job that bit faster.
