What have I been doing in recent days
Friday, November 30, 2001
Didn't get to any classes today. Had a bit if a sleep in and the surfed on the net. After lunch we had prac duties so a mate and I got to feed stacks of frozen bread to some cows in the paddock. Once this job was successfully completed we moved boxes from one room to another room (that happened to be upstairs). I took off early to collect Ness from work and then we went back to her place for dinner. After the meal I went and helped her dad Vince and a lecturer from college prepare the slab for concrete. We will be doing this a 7am on Saturday.

Over the weekend I got two more assignments done. I have a minimum of two more to do this week (and possibly another two if I really feel like it!). It sure was hard staying at home while ALL the guys from college went to Hobart to watch the cricket on Saturday. I didn't evern get to see Vanessa until dinner time. Once she came over my day started to improve. She always has the affect on me :)
One extra interesting thing happened over the weekend. On Saturday night Ness and I were in town and this lady was trying to stop traffic as we walked pass. She said that she car had just been towed away and that she needed a lift to an out of town suburb. We gave her a lift and then dropped her back in town after she did what she had to do. It was all God in that we had been there and able to help. She said that she had just prayed then we walked past. She is in a difficult situtation but we trust that things will improve soon.

It is late Thursday arvo. I did some study but will have to do much more tonight if I am to pass the exam tomorrow morning. I also got a nice surprise today. I have 3 assignments outstanding from last year that still need to be done before graduation on the 8th of December. Oh I will be a busy boy!!

Today's exam was the worst so far but I survived. The lecturer threw in a 5th question so the exam lengthened to 2 and a half hours. Only one more to do on Friday.

Well this first exam went well; and only 4 more next week to go. I think I did OK but we will have to wait until the paper is marked and the results given. After the exam I rushed off and enjoyed have luch with Ness in town for one hour. It was a nice day here in Launceston so we sat and ate in the park on the grass. She went back to work and I came back to milk the cows. At 5pm I went back and picked her up and then for a few minutes prior to dinner we walked along the nearby creek. After watching the days events on SBS I took her home and then stayed til late. It was another good day with my lovely one.

The week is getting away and the exams are getting closer. I have been getting a few little projects done prior to studying for exams. My first one is this Friday morning and is a repeat of Old Testament Exegesis looking at the books of Isaiah and Amos. Then on Monday is Job, Psalms and Proverbs. Tuesday World Religions; Wednesday Church Growth and then Friday Theology of Missions. All are 2 hour exams and start at 10.15am. Please pray for us if you remember.
It has been fantastic to see and be with Vanessa the past few days. It feels like she has been here for ages although it was really only since Saturday. We have had most meals together, either here at college or at her parents home at Mowbray. Some nights have been spent relaxing watching a video or two. She started prac for uni yesterday. It was a bit different to what she expected but I know she will be fine. We will have the next few days apart so she can catch up on sleep and for me to do study.
Last Sunday Ness came to church with me. This coming Sunday we will be going to church again together but will attend in the morning the church her family attends here in Launceston. I will be preaching at this meeting. My old favourite message about my most recent time in Mexico will be the order of the day - I can't be spending too much time preparing and this will be of interest to the youth who are playing a bigger role this week.

The weekend has been Ok. Well actually FANTASTIC!! It sure is good to have Vanessa around. We hung out at her parents place after she arrived on Saturday night. I wasn't telling anyone when she was coming as some of my mates wanted to come a help me welcome her at the airport. I am a big boy so I declined the offer of assistance.
Yesterday we went to my home church of Perth where the Pastor Ted was preaching about Spiritual gifts. After a quick internet upload of some pages we went for lunch and then hung out at the river and then at the Gorge. Both were very nice places. Her parents invited us over for a BBQ so we went, ate heaps, watched a video... and then I came home. She is coming over for dinner tonight and will start her placement tomorrow for 5 weeks.

My last presentation has just been done. That is pretty much all the work for this year. Have a stack of exams over the next few weeks, so that will keep me busy.
