Queensland's Gold Coast
Where I lived for 3 years
From 1996 through to 1998 I lived on Queensland very beautiful Gold Coast. It was a place we usually only went to for Christmas holidays but then I found my self living there.
God provided me with a job with Scripture Union of Queensland which in that region was at that time called Youth Concern. During that first year I did the YMIS course for one day a week in Brisbane, and worked the other 4 in the high schools.
God provided me with all that I needed as a missionary to the youth of that region. I lived at a Christian guys house and didn;t have to pay much (if any) rent. When he got married I moved into the prestidgious TSS boarding school and stayed there for the next 2 years. Once a week I would have to supervise the boys 70 in the house, which was mostly fun. For this the school gave me 3 GREAT meals a day and did all my washing, cleaning and ironing for FREE! The best wicket I will probably ever get on.
During the day I worked in the high schools and taught Religious Education to the teenagers. I also spent some time doing sport, establishing the Helensvale Chaplaincy and leading in the local Christian Surfers group.
When my time on the coast was up God moved me off to the WEC Bible college in Tasmania called Worldview Centre for Intercultural Studies.
